Description
Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning
This Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning in covenient 5 metre lengths, allowing you to cut your own custom lengths. It is made of coiled wire. The Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning offers flexibility in every direction, for comfort. At the same time, the Boning offers proper support where needed. The Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning is generally placed along the seams or vertically under the cups in a seamless garment, corset, bustier, or bodice.
This particular boning is sold by the 5-meter length. Customers purchase Steel Spiral Boning instead of pre-cut Spiral Steel Boning to determine the length themselves. Customers using the boning to make corset dresses often use Steel Spiral Boning. After the boning has been cut, it does need to be tipped to prevent it from poking through your garment. The Boning can be tipped with either our Spiral Boning Tips or our Heat Shrink for Spiral Boning. Both options work well, the Heat Shrink is cut and secured with a heat gun, whereas the tips are pressed onto the ends with pliers.
The Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning is ¼” (5 mm) wide. Sold in 5-meter lengths. It is not zinc coated as our pre-cut Spiral Boning, so be sure to wash your hands often when working with this around light coloured fabrics.
Uses:
The Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning is primarily used for corsets. This is the recommended boning to use throughout the body of your corset or corset dress. Steel Spiral Boning is by far the best boning to use, as it is flexible and forms to your body. This makes for a more comfortable garment. Unlike Flat Steel Boning, it returns to its original shape once the garment is removed. The Boning can also be used in bodices, longline bras, or bustiers. This is the best quality boning to use in any garment that requires structure.
How to Use:
Simply cut the Steel Spiral Boning Metal Corset Boning to the desired length with a strong pair of wire cutters or bolt cutters. Use either our Spiral Boning tips or Heat Shrink for Spiral Boning to seal the ends. The ends must be tipped, as they are sharp when cut. It is not zinc coated as our pre-cut Spiral Boning, so be sure to wash your hands often when working with this around light coloured fabrics.
