Sweet Sixteen Bralette Pattern Collection
It’s no wonder bralettes are hot fashion news right now! They are unstructured and have no underwires. They are typically worn as sleep bras or under casual or “at home” clothes. With the 16 different options included with this pattern, the Sweet Sixteen Bralette Pattern Collection could become your new breast friend! The typical ready to wear bralette is only available in smaller sizes…not ours!
Pattern Details:
The Sweet Sixteen Bralette Pattern Collection ranges in band sizes from 28″-38″ (71 cm-96 cm), with 12 cup sizes ranging from a Bottom Cup Depth of 2.75″ up to 5.25″. That makes 72 unique sizes in all! What’s more, is our Sweet Sixteen has 16 views to make all, in one pattern envelope! Make this from stretch lace, fabric, or a combination of lace and fabric. You can line each variation with foam as well for a super comfy fit. Wait, there’s more! You have the option to make each one into a longline (midriff) version or the regular length. I wait for my order for Sweet version 2.
I love this pattern but I want to know if it’s possible to have more projection in the cup with alteration. I’ think that the cup is not to tight but the breast is “a little bit compress”. I have a little breast and I don’t want to “loose”..
Mrs Johnson I love your class video and you’re my “guru” since a couple of years.
Liz –
Can this pattern be made with cut and sew foam?
Beverly Johnson –
Yesz of course. The instructions and pattern pieces are all in the same pattern, along with all the sizes

I’m a 30F, can I use this as a daywear bra? I’d like it to be very supportive. Is there anything that I need to change or different materials?
Beverly Johnson –
You can line it with sheer cup lining for the best support. The Ingrid is also wireless and offers great support with only duoplex for the cups.
Aiysha K –
Can I use the most firm elastic for the band, and add wider straps, to make this extra supportive for physical activities and exercise? (I am 30E normally, and looking for a extra sturdy bra without wires).
Thanks!
Beverly Johnson –
Of course, but the main improvement for stability will be to make sure the straps and cups are non-stretch fabric. Also raise the neckline at the centre front. Low cut bras are NOT supportive without wires!

May 24, 2018:, you wrote: I am working on a pattern right now called Ingrid that is specifically for the larger ladie.
Is it finish? Where can I buy it?
Tank you
Beverly Johnson –
Yes, the Ingrid pattern is available on our website here
Dionne –
I don’t understand BCD yet (I’ve only made the Classic and Shelley bras that are sized differently), so please forgive me for asking a question that you’ve answered in the description. I’m looking for a pre-teen/training bra for my daughter who has just begun budding, but desperately wants a bra. Is this the right pattern for her? Maybe I should just modify her bathing suit top pattern?
Beverly Johnson –
Yes, The smaller sizes would likely be just right and if there is too much projection, the vertical seam is very easy to pin out and change to your liking. The bralette is very versatile and can have many looks.
Beverly Johnson –
Yes, we certainly do! All sizes are included in one pattern envelope.
Kimberly –
Thanks and do you have a fit for a size 36C?

Hi Beverly,
I already have the pattern and I just ordered your book from Nancy’s Notions. Will you be teaming up with Nancy’s for other projects, etc?
Beverly Johnson –
I hope so! I thoroughly enjoyed it and they were fun to work with. I guess time will tell!
Lauria –
Hi Beverly,
It looks like my BCD is in range, but I’m an Omega. Are there any recommendations for adjustments I might need to make? Or should I start with the size the pattern will recommend and go from there?
Beverly Johnson –
I would always start with the size and test it out in similar fabric. However one of our custom bra-makers makes a LOT of bralettes and she tells me whatever the BCD is…she goes two sizes down in the bralette to get a more accurate fit. This is obviously something I am going to test abut she swears by the 2 size smaller pattern.
Amanda –
Would I be able to adapt this so it could be a pullover bra? My mother is a senior and needs something she can slip over her head. I think this would be a pretty alternative to the white and black sports bras she has been using.
Beverly Johnson –
Of course! Just lengthen the back by 3/4″ to allow for the hook and eye. Then remove the scoop at the back and make the straps straight instead of curving around the scoop. She will then be able to slip it over her head.

Yesterday I ordered the Sweet Sixteen pattern for my granddaughter. She is a very unusual size (32J) making it difficult to find bras that fit well. I’m so excited to get the pattern and for my granddaughter to have well fitting support! Thank you!!! I’ll update when I’ve completed the first bra.
Shawnice –
Hello , I just wanted to know will this fit women with a much larger cup between H to M maybe. I am a 48H.
Beverly Johnson –
The bralette is really not designed for larger breasted women. The sizing is by Bottom Cup Depth and it will fit up to a 6.5 BCD. A 48 H would likely be a 7.5 BCD. However do not lose hope! I am working on a pattern right now called Ingrid that is specifically for the larger ladies. Non-wired and actually quite pretty! I hope Ingrid will be finished and launched before the middle of July
Susan Glass –
Beverly, before I order I want to be sure this bralette Pattern is for adults. The sizes are small ( I am within the range) so I ask this strange question.
Thanks, Susan
Beverly Johnson –
Yes, definitely for adult women. I used a different method of measuring so it would fit more women – 72 sizes in all…up to a BCD of 6.5 I am told will fit!
Lissa Gay –
Dang you autocorrect! Underbust, NOT undercuts.
Beverly V. Johnson –
It’s ok…I knew what you meant!
Lissa Gay –
My cross cup measurement is 11″. Does Sweet 16 go up to that size? My undercuts measures 36″.
Beverly V. Johnson –
Yes, it does!
kimberly olson –
Hey I want to know dose the sizes come in a 32C and 34C as well?
Beverly V. Johnson –
The bralette pattern is available in 72 sizes, all contained in the one envelope. I have a different way of measuring, in that you measure the cross cup and pick the size from there. But you won’t have trouble finding your size!
