Based on Beverly Johnson’s Craftsy tutorial, Sewing Bras Construction and Fit, we have made a kit including all the necessary fabrics and hardware to create your very own Classic Bra! Sew along with the class and learn how to make and fit your very first bra. This kit has everything you need to start your foray into creating your very own bras and lingerie for only $50.00 CAD!

The Craftsy Bra-Making Kit includes our Classic Patterns, available from a 2.25 Bottom Cup Depth up to a 7.5! In Ready-to-Wear, that is 30AAA to 48H.

Order a Small Bra Kit if you are a 4.5 BCD (46B, 44C, 40D, 36C, 32F) or below.

Order a Large Bra Kit if you are a 4.75 BCD (46C, 42D, 38E, 34F, 30G) or above.

The Craftsy Bra-making kit is the perfect kit to buy for the beginner bra-maker. Learn the basic steps in creating your own supportive and comfortable bra and find out what it means to finally have a bra that fully supports you!

Classic Full Band Bra Pattern – features a full band that runs under the cups, offering great support. Because of the full band, this bra can be made with or without underwires, depending on your preference. One pattern has every single size, from 2.25 BCD to 7.5 BCD!

Pattern Sizes:

This pattern uses a unique sizing system, called the Bottom Cup Depth Sizing Method (BCD).  All BCD sizes from 2.25 through 7.5 are included in this one pattern which offers the equivalent of over 100 ready-to-wear sizes. This includes the “in-between” sizes that ready-to-wear does not carry!

While wearing your best-fitting non-padded bra, be sure to hold the tape flat against your body and do not twist. Measure your BOTTOM CUP DEPTH, which is the measurement from the apex seam following the curve of the breast down to the seam at the wireline on the lower cup pattern piece – that is the Bottom Cup Depth. This number (in inches) is the pattern size you will use. For example, if you measure 5.25” BCD, you will trace the 5.25 size for all pieces.

Next, measure your RIB CAGE, pulling the tape snug against the skin but not tight. If you measure 34” on the rib cage, you will trace to the line marked 34 on the 5.25 band pattern piece.

The unique feature of the BCD system of sizing is that is the cup you’ve chosen is too small or too large, you simply make the next BCD size up or down.
