Description
Heat Shrink Spiral Boning Cover
Customers cutting Spiral Boning will need 2 bone tips for each bone being cut. This Heat Shrink Spiral Boning Cover is a great alternative to using the Metal Boning Tips. The Heat Shrink boning cover is easy to apply with a heat gun and it holds just as well as the metal tips.
This product is sold in 8″ ( 20 cm) tubular pieces, which is enough to cover at least 6 bones, top and bottom. It is clear or white in colour.
Uses:
The Heat Shrink Spiral Boning Cover is an easy to use alternative to metal boning tips. The Heat Shrink can be used to tip both ends of your ¼” Spiral Boning; to seal the sharp ends and prevent poking through your garment. Use for any garment that requires Spiral Boning; such as corsets, bustiers, and foundation garments.
How to Use:
Applying the Heat Shrink Spiral Boning Cover is simple and easy. It seals the end of your cut spiral boning, to prevent the sharp ends from poking through the garment. To apply, simply cut a 3/4″ (or shorter) length of the Heat Shrink tube. Place it over the end of the boning, allowing just a tiny bit of the Heat Shrink tube to sit beyond the end of the boning. Make sure you are working on a non-flammable surface and using proper gloves and eye protection. While holding one end of your spiral boning, heat the other end (with the Heat Shrink) with a heat gun until the Heat Shrink tube shrinks around the boning. Repeat for the other end of the boning. This will give you a nicely finished piece of boning that will not poke through your corset, costume, or foundation garment.
