We use this 1″ wide belt buckle with our 1″ strap elastic to make a belt that fits jeans belt loops perfectly. It is also a great addition for a skirt belt where you do not want a wide belt but you desire a dramatic buckle.

In that case, we have used the wide waistband elastic and put the belt buckle on a separate piece of 1″ strap elastic. We then stitched the 1″ strap to the wider elastic. The result – a belt buckle that sits flat but does not rub or chafe on your tummy.
