Garter Belts Pattern

From the simple to the sublime, this collection of Garter Belt patterns will literally walk you though every occasion, day or night. Each view increases with complexity but none are difficult to sew. View A is a tailored garter with lace trimming, each piece forming a perfect point and fastens with a G-hook in the back. View B can be made with lace or sheer fabric or any kind, and trimmed with fold-over binding. The top of each garter features a peek-a-boo attachment point and a hook and eye closure. View C uses a clever combination of lace edging and fabric, trimmed with decorative ribbon to accentuate its classic, tailored lines. Hook and eye closure finishes the back.  View D is a two layer garter belt, with an overlay of lace edging over a co-ordinating fabric, trimmed with picot-edged elastic. Each point ends with its own bow adorned garter strap – 8 garters in all, fastening with a hook and eye closure.

Waist sizes 28″-46″ (71-117 cms) and hip sizes 36″- 54″ (91-137 cms) are included in this pattern. The pattern is easy to adjust if you need to increase or decrease the waist or hips to the next size up or down. Bi-lingual instructions English and French.

• 2 m (2.25 yd) or less of lace edging 6” (15 cm)
• 2.4 m or less Strap Elastic 1/2” wide for the garters
• 4 garter clips with 1/2” wide slot
• 4 sliders 1/2″ wide to make adjustable garter straps
• 1.25 m (1.3 yd) or less of strap elastic 5/8” – 3/4” wide for the waist
• 1 G-hook or  magnetic clip in the same width as the waistband elastic

View B Materials List

• 0.6 m (0.66 yd) or less All-over lace fabric, or any other fabric
• 0.3 m (0.66 yd) of lightweight stable lining for behind fabric
• 1 m or less Decorative satin or velvet ribbon trim to cover the seams
• 4 m (4.5 yds) or less Fold over elastic binding for the bottom edges
• 4 rings 1/2″ – 3/4″ (12-18 mm)
• 1.2 m or less Strap elastic for garters 1/2” wide
• 4 garter clips 1/2” wide slot
• 4 sliders 1/2″ wide to make adjustable garter straps
• Hook and eye 3 x 3
