Description
Stretch Scalloped Elastic Trim
This Stretch Scalloped Elastic Trim is a small, stretchy, decorative edge with small scallops. The trim sewn along one edge and peeks over the edge or as an accent in a seam line. This trim is perfect for neckline of a bra or can be inserted into a seam. The finished edge of the trim is 1/4″ in width and when inserted, shows a small, delicate scalloped edge. This trim is perfect for any garment that requires a small or subtle trim detail.
The trim is available in White and Black. Our customers have used it for insertion into seams on baby clothes, headbands, trim on doll clothes, children’s panties, undershirts, nightgowns, or pajamas. We have used the trim for smaller sized bras, keeping the trim in proportion to the rest of the garment.
How to Use:
Use this Stretch Scalloped Elastic Trim to insert into a seam, to give a clean, subtle, finished edge. Use this trim to finish the neckline of a bra or insert it into a seam for a delicate detail. The trim does stretch, therefore, it is used on both stretchable and non-stretchable garments.
Simply sew the Stretch Scalloped Elastic Trim to one side of the seam or edge, aligning the centre line of the trim to the seam line. Sew the trim to the garment with a small zig-zag stitch (width about 2 and length about 2). Pull on the stretch trim just enough to “show it who’s in charge!” This will prevent the edge from stretching, which is common when sewing tiny trims to a fabric edge. Using a zig-zag stitch will allow the trim to stretch with the garment. If the edge you are sewing does not stretch, then a straight stitch can certainly be used.
