Description
Rich and luxurious double faced satin ribbon 5/8 inches wide makes a perfect stabilizer behind straps made from strap elastic. Not only that, but the ribbon can be used on its own for straps for camisoles and nighties. It is a perfect size for stitching behind a 3/4″ strap and not show from the front. Simply straight stitch the ribbon to the strap elastic and voila – the front part of the strap will be stabilized. Great news for those who want to eliminate the “bounce” associated with all-elastic straps.
Our newest pattern, the Ruby uses all-elastic straps as the strap feature on the pattern. Not only is it easy to do, but if provides a simple yet elegant designer touch to the bra. However we do suggest the front part of the strap elastic be stabilized. That’s where the double faced satin ribbon 5/8″ comes into play. Why use plain twill tape or potentially itchy strips of stabilizer when the ribbon is so handy, and so pretty? It is not like single faced “craft” ribbon which is harsh and may not be washable in some cases. We wanted you to have the best quality ribbon, so we now include this satin ribbon as part of our Ruby Findings Kits.
The double faced satin ribbon is available in all our 15 colours, so the ribbon blends with the elastic and virtually disappear behind it. The ribbon is 100% polyester so it is practically indestructible. It will fray (like any satin ribbon) so we recommend that you turn the edge under to keep it from fraying.
Our customers use the double faced satin ribbon 5/8 inches wide for baby headbands, as lingerie straps or satin ribbon accents on bras, corsets and waist cinchers. We’ve also seen it tied into bows for the fronts of bras (I see a lot of these larger bows on designer bras in Pinterest)
