Customers purchasing the Metal Spiral Boning by the metre, will need these corresponding Spiral Boning Caps Spiral Boning Tips. These caps are also great to have around even if you buy the pre-cut Spiral Boning. It is sometimes necessary to cut a piece of boning and it is a good idea to have these just in case. When you cut Spiral Boning, you must finish or cap the ends. The boning is quite sharp after it has been cut, therefore, will poke through or pierce your garment unless properly tipped.

Our Spiral Boning Caps are made from a pliable metal, are easy to use, and hold tight. Use pliers to attach the tips. You will need 2 Spiral Boning Tips per bone, one for each end.

The caps are packaged in bags of 12 tips, enough to cap 6 pieces of boning, top and bottom. The caps fit ¼” Spiral Boning.

How to Use:

Installing the Spiral Boning Caps is quick and easy. Remember, you will need 2 caps per bone. The caps are best applied with two pairs of pliers.

First, cut your Spiral Boning to the desired length, with a pair of strong wire cutters or bolt cutters. Then, place the cap over the cut end of boning, making sure to push the cap as far as it can go. Holding the piece of boning in one hand, squeeze the edges of cap tight to the boning, against the sides of the bone. Hold the cap this way with the pliers. With the second set of pliers, while still holding the edges of the cap with the first set, squeeze the top and bottom or front and back of the cap. You will be squeezing the front and back of the piece of boning. Essentially, you want to squeeze both the sides and front and back of the boning at the same time. Doing this will clamp your cap nice and tight.
