Grommet Setting Dies

Our Grommet Setting Dies are made to work with our Grommet Setting Press. These dies must be used with the Grommet Setting Press. If you have already purchased the Grommet Setting Press, you will not need to buy the size #00 die. However, we do have the #00 die available, should you ever need to replace it. You will need to buy the #2 die if you be will using the larger, #2 Grommets. The #2 Grommet Setting Die is the add-on closing die set you will need to set the larger Grommets in costumes, corsets, or waist cinchers; especially if you desire the “Steampunk”or “pirate wench” look.

The #00 Grommet has a 3/16″ or 5 mm hole and the #2 Grommet has a 3/8″ or 10 mm hole.

Please note that the grommet die will NOT work without a grommet press!

The Grommet Setting Dies will not cut the holes that are necessary before setting the Grommet. To cut the holes, you will need the Grommet Hole Cutting Die.

Die Sizes Available:

#00 – 3/16″ or 5 mm
#2 – 3/8″ or 10 mm

How to Use:

Using the Grommet Setting Die is easy. First, measure out and mark where you would like to set your Grommets, on your garment. With your Grommet Setting Press, first use the Grommet Hole Cutting Die to cut the holes where you have made your marks. Then, change to your Grommet Setting Die. Place the post half of the grommet face down on the bottom part of the die. Place your garment, face down, over the spindle, so that it is lying flat against the flat part of the grommet. The post should now be poking all the way through the hole in your garment. Now place the collar, right side up, over the post. The post should now be sticking up through the collar. While holding the garment with one hand, simply press the handle of the Grommet Press downward to set the Grommet. Voila! you now have a functional Grommet!

Uses:

Use the Grommet Setting Die in conjunction with the Grommet Setting Press. This can be used to set Grommets in any type of garment that a functional lace-up closure or detail is desired. Use on corsets, waist cinchers, and costumes.
