Plastic Boning

Plastic Boning is a great alternative to Metal Boning. The boning can be cut easily and is much lighter in weight than metal. If you have a sensitivity to metal, the Plastic Boning is also a great solution. While plastic is not as strong as metal, it can be much easier to work with. Because of its ease of use, plastic has lent itself to a whole new realm of finished products where metal is not practical or desired. For example, one of the more recent and clever uses for boning, is to use it as the perimeter of baby nursing covers and circular baby bassinet covers!

We offer several types of boning, including plastic by the metre. We also carry Rigilene, which is a sew-in type of plastic. Rigilene is a flat boning made from tiny strands of plastic, woven together. As a unit, they are much stronger than the single strands, but much lighter in weight and easier to work with. We offer Rigilene in two widths and two colours. Our customers use Rigilene inside bandeau bras, wedding dresses, bra cups, and lightweight, un-lined corsets.
