You welcomed Movember (the men’s month) by making menswear. So many women wrote to say they use men’s patterns for themselves! This month was about creating menswear…OR using a menswear pattern to create something for a woman. Let’s see how you stepped up to the plate to Be Manly for Movember!
Desiree
Hello there,
Very sorry I didn’t manage October. Never happened since I started contributing… Nevertheless, attached my Movember Menswear contribution an iguana boxer boy size 10y. Kind regards, Desiree
Hello, A second project. Making some December presents. My son needs new underwear his whole collection is too small, too narrow or too short. So I have to upgrade the production speed 🤣. Greetz,Desiree

My contribution for November: father and son in the same print.

I used The Pin Up Girls men’s boxer pattern, Michael style. Printed CL for the front gusset and solid black for the rest. Waist band elastic from BraMakers Supply! The men in my life love the new version of the men’s boxer pattern. Better gusset support!

Christmas pugs Lillebror boxers with an internal sling for my pug loving son. I used FOE instead of binding for the “codpiece” opening. The benefits of the sling was discussed on the “Sew Manly” FB page. I, personally, at age 66, had never seen underwear with a sling and I now understand how it is used. Lots of fun to make in 220gsm cotton lycra.
Rachel
Hello hello from Alberta Canada! November meant new boxers for my man. These are Lillebror in fabric from BraMakers!

Sleeping shorts and undies for the ‘men’ in my life. I made a pair for my husband last year and made modifications to customize how he likes them. This is his 3rd pair. My son (8yrs) chose his own colour (bamboo fabric) but they both have matching bands. This time I tried the ‘flat lock’ setting on my serger with wooly nylon thread with success. Then cover stitched the waistband on and hemmed the legs.

Dear Fairy Bra Mother and Fairy Bra Sisters,
My entry gets the whole family involved in Movember. It is a mash up between a “his and hers” set and a “mother/ daughter” set. This “his and hers and hers” matching set has a pair of Michael men’s underwear for Mo’bro, a t-shirt bra for Mo’sista, and a camisole for Mo’puce (“ma puce” with a mustache?). Making Movember a family affair,v (Canada)

I made another Michael Men’s Underwear for my son. This is really a great pattern, and comes together perfectly. I made this with the front opening and the sling, and used a kit from BMS.
Sonia
Hi, Sonia here from Québec, Canada! This month I made a pair of matching underwear ; his and hers! I made them from a cotton jersey with a funny print of the Looney Tunes. I used Pin-up Girls pattern ”Michael” and I drafted the boy short with the ”Make and fit panties” book. It was a lot of fun! Thank you Bra-Makers team!

For this month’s challenge I made these men’s boxer briefs out of this cotton spandex koala fabric I got on a bra-making tour of Europe a few years ago. It was a quick and easy sew!
For Movember, I also sewed up this outfit for my littlest man. He’s just two days old in this picture! I think he likes his new outfit. It’s pretty cozy and cute

This month I kept up with making myself some more underwear although I took inspiration from my hubby’s tighty whities. They are unapologetically built for comfort above style. So, I fashioned mine with a similar center panel to showcase the “goods” (or good fabric) and used bands instead of elastic because honestly, I don’t like elastic and if I’m going to learn something from the men, comfort might as well be it.
The first pair was made using the softest bamboo flower and grey silver fabrics and feels like a cloud is hugging my bum.
The second pair features the father we love to hate (yes, that’s Darth Vader!). My hubby and I are really geeky and he still hasn’t decided if they turn him on or not…. Although he does like how I look in them so it’s a win either way. It is a fun way to feature a tiny bit of a really nice fabric I’ve been hoarding forever. 🙂

Dear Ladies of Bra Makers Supply,
When I saw this rayon print on the Bra Makers Supply website I asked my husband if he would like a pair of his favourite Michael underwear made from it. “Sure!” Was the reply. Interior sling is black Active Cotton wickaway cotton. Elastic seam is butted at the back with foldover elastic to cover. Hope he likes them.

I made the men’s tank from last year. As I intended it to be a summer nighty for me, I decided it would be a great opportunity to play with banding & binding techniques. I learned some things & got reacquainted with my serger, eventually becoming friends again! Lol. The end result did not come close to fitting me but was not a bad fit for my son. Louise from Canada

Here is my entry for the Movember challenge. A fun pair of Michael men’s underwear. A Christmas gift for my son. Love this pattern!
Hi, I come to here first time. I would like to purchase “Judi” men’s brief which I found in your “November” page.
However, I cound’t find the product from your shopping site.
Could you please instruct us how to get this?
And, if we could purchase, could you instruct us the price, size and the price of cost to Japan?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
They all look great!
